Canon makes it easy to shoot like a pro!
Tip #1: Know Your Manual Settings
Canon’s AUTO modes let you point and shoot with perfect ease, controlling Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed for you. When you’re ready to step it up a notch, these are the settings you will want to master:
Aperture: A high aperture setting means the aperture is nearly in the ‘closed’ position, allowing a larger depth of field and therefore a sharper foreground and background, where a low aperture setting opens the aperture and allows a smaller, more focused focal plane.
ISO: Adjust the ISO setting for low-light shots. A high ISO setting means the camera is more sensitive to light, but also means you are subject to ‘noise’ in the picture. A low ISO setting is helpful for shooting in bright settings.
Shutter Speed: The shutter is the ‘eye’ of the camera. The shutter speed determines how fast the ‘eye’ opens and closes. A slow shutter speed is 1/15th of a second, while a fast shutter speed would 1/1000th of a second.
