Earnhardt Jr Continues to Fight For Points and Position
Watch this weekend’s action-packed Hollywood Casino 400 and look for the KBB logo on Dale Earnhardt Jr’s No. 88 Chevy SS. Dale will compete for points, and ultimately for a chance to advance to the Eliminator 8, as he is currently ranked 11th in points and needs strong showings at Kansas and Talladega to continue. With an opportunity to rack up points in Kansas, Dale is positioning his team for Talladega’s restrictor-plate race where he hopes to replicate his first place finish from May!
USA TODAY Sports writer Jeff Gluck spoke with Dale about making aggressive adjustments in everything from the setup to how he races as he works to secure a spot in the Eliminator round: “A few of us will be out there for blood, trying to claw our way back in. I like being able to race like that.”
Logano Secures His Spot in the Eliminator Round with a Victory at Charlotte
Joey Logano soared through Charlotte Motor Speedway and into Victory Lane, taking the top spot at last weekend’s first race of the Contender round. That checkered flag finish makes him the driver to beat as he tops the leader board in overall driver standings and secured Team Penske’s No. 22 Ford Fusion’s spot in the Eliminator round.
As he continues to out race the competition, including Chase favorite Kevin Harvick, national media coverage spotlights Logano’s new mantra to focus on himself and his team instead of worrying about what the competition is doing.
USA TODAY Sports writer Jeff Gluck featured the Harvick/Logano match as one to watch: “Although Harvick gets most of the attention, Logano has been right there with him in performance. Logano’s win Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway was his ninth in the past two years; Harvick has eight during that time.”
Tune in to watch the drama unfold…and take note of the Autotrader and KBB logos as they continue to race toward Victory Lane!
